Capolavori Productions Presents The Red and The Black

The Red and The Black, Stendhal’s timeless tale of seduction and political intrigue set during the French Restoration, is coming to the stage this week. Produced for Capolavori by Steve Acunto and written and directed by Deloss Brown, The Red and The Black opens on January 18, 2013 and runs through February 3, 2013 at Theatre at St Clement’s in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

Stendhal, whose real name is Marie-Henri Beyle, is considered one of the world’s greatest novelists and he “occupies a singular position in the history of French literature” according to The New York Times. The Red and The Black (Le Rouge et Le Noir) is regarding as a classic for contemporary prose and character psychology. The novel has been adapted into a drama by two acts starring Lucas Wells as Julien Sorel and Krista Adams Santilli as Louise de Rénal.
