“Respiro” is Stefano Losi’s third Solo Exhibition at the United Nations in New York City. It is presented by the UNSRC Literary Cultural Circle at the United Nations in collaboration with Istituto Italiano di Cultura, New York.

The exhibit includes “Violent Dances Fade”, made of bronze, brass and cast glass sculptures, visual works with oils and oxidized metal minerals combined with Latin and English poetry.  The project began in the early 1990s in Milan and was further developed in London and New York.

Stefano Losi, born and raised in Lake Como, is a sculptor, painter and poet classically trained in fine arts. He holds a graduate degree at the Luigi Bocconi University of Milan. He later worked in management at the EBRD and is currently First Officer at the United Nations in New York, where he has been the President of the UNSRC Literary Cultural Circle since 2010. He was nominated Knight of the Italian Republic by President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi in 2005.

“This is a splendid union. In the words of these poems I find the same hope I cherish when I observe the World.” wrote UN Under-Secretary-General Antonio Maria Costa of the exhibit.

The exhibition’s cocktail reception and poetry reading is on Friday, April 17 at the United Nations in New York.
