Lighting of the Pasquale Di Fabio Monument in Avezzano

On March 15, 2025, the lighting ceremony of a monument by the late artist, Pasquale Di Fabio, illuminated the sky in Avezzano, Italy. The event is a ceremony full of remembrance, honoring the lives of the 1915 earthquake victims.

Artist Alberto di Fabio honored his father Pasquale with an exhibition entitled, “Pasquale Di Fabio: un lungo itinerario creativo.” The exhibition was inaugurated and opened to the public which will remain year-round.

Mayor Giovanni Di Pangrazio lit the monument after a minute of heartfelt silence for those lost. The event consisted of institutional speeches and a blessing given by Father Don Adriano. The event was a collaboration between the Municipality of Avezzano, the Carispaq Foundation, the Antiquae Association, and Avezzano Pro Loco. The mayor emphasized the importance of highlighting Avezzano’s history. The lighting of the monument and the exhibition represents the community’s commitment to honoring cultural initiatives and artistic heritage.
