Italian Ambassador Varricchio meets with President Obama
The Ambassador of Italy to the U.S., Armando Varricchio, presented his credentials at the Oval Office last week during his first meeting with President Obama. The White House Historical Association held a symposium titled “Italy in the White House: A Conversation on Historical Perspectives,” where they partnered with the Italian Embassy and the National Italian American Foundation.
At this meeting, Varricchio focused on the positive relations between the United States and Italy. He spoke of both countries having a “common love of beauty.” President Obama also spoke highly of the relationship between the two countries, recalling President Mattarella’s recent visit as well as Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and the bond they have formed.
