In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY Presents in Late April
New York’s annual Italian theater festival called In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY premieres on April 29th through May 13. Dating back to 2013, In Scena aims to raise awareness of Italian theater and artists among New York’s theatre spectators; furthermore, the yearly festival seeks to connect both American and Italian art scenes.
In Scena carries out their mission by importing some of the imports some of the best Italian theater shows, which have been already displayed as full productions in Italy. Moreover, it also delivers translated readings of Italian plays, lectures, and exchanges between Italian and international artists. In addition to taking place in all five boroughs of NYC, the event also features in Toronto, Canada.

The Great Magic (La Grande Magia)

The 2024 partners for the 11th iteration of In Scena include CIMA (Center for Italian Modern Art), Culture Lab LIC, BAAD Bronx Academy of Art and Dance, The Tank NYC, The Italian Cultural Institute of Toronto, Villa Charities (Toronto), Hystrio Scritture di Scena Award, Dominio Pubblico, Civica Scuola Interpreti e Traduttori Altiero Spinelli (Milan, Italy), and We The Italians. The hosts of the festival include New York’s Kairos Italy Theater, KIT Italia, and Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò at NYU.
