John Cabot University Honors Rocco B. Commisso at 50th Anniversary New York Gala
John Cabot University, the fully accredited American University located in the heart of Rome, hosted its annual Gala in New York City to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The premiere university event took place at the Union League Club. The New York Gala, is a celebration of John Cabot University and offers the opportunity to support its academic initiatives, scholarships, and cultural programs. This year’s Gala which took place on March 28th, marked the much anticipated 50th Anniversary and jubilee milestone as an overseas American liberal arts university. The Board of Trustees and College President Dr. Franco Pavoncello invited the collective to celebrate this outstanding achievement and to commemorate the history of the institution.
The College honored Mr. Rocco B. Commisso, Chairman and CEO of Mediacom Communications Corporation, President of ACF Fiorentina, and Chairman of New York Cosmos. Mr. Commisso received The Frank J. Guarini Medal for Leadership in Business for his achievements and dedication to collegiate scholarship and educational opportunities for young people.
All proceeds from the evening went towards JCU’s Annual Fund program. The Annual Fund provides unrestricted assistance that is vital to the success of JCU, allowing the university to utilize resources where they are most needed and can have the biggest impact.
Every spring, alumni, parents, trustees, and friends of John Cabot University gather in New York City for this annual event. The Gala is an opportunity for the once-small liberal arts college to celebrate its now internationally-recognized status and to honor those within the community and beyond who have contributed to the university and demonstrated their commitment to education while exemplifying JCU’s mission.
