La Scuola’s Annual Gala Celebrates Italian Education
The Annual Gala of La Scuola d’Italia Guglielmo Marconi is one of the highlights of Italian New York each year, and this year’s event dazzled. The evening is dedicated to the integration of Italian culture and education in New York and beyond.
La Scuola, founded in 1977, is a cornerstone in the Italian community in New York City. The school dedicates itself to a rigorous academic and bilingual curriculum by instilling the ideals of bicultural acceptance and international openness in its students. The 2014 La Scuola Gala extended this cultural awareness to all of its attendees.
Master of Ceremonies, Maria Bartiromo, anchor and Global Markets Editor, Fox Business Network Fox News Channel, presented the evening to more than 450 guests, including famed singer-songwriter Jovanotti, whose young daughter is a pupil at the school. The Italian pop-star put on a small show for the audience.
Other esteemed guests at the Gala included Italian Ambassador to the United States Claudio Bisogniero, Consual General Natalia Quintavalle, Italian Ambassador to the United Nations in New York Sebastiano Cardi, ICE director Pier Paolo Celeste and ENIT director Eugenio Magnani.
