Since 1992, the Columbus Citizens Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Manhattan, has provided scholarships and financial aid to Italian-Americans through its Scholarship Program. Through this program, the Foundation emphasizes preserving culture and creating educational opportunities for the next generation of Italian-Americans. This year, the Foundation is expected to provide over 700 scholarships and financial aid to high-achieving elementary, high-school and college Italian-American students with financial need.
The Columbus Citizens Foundation also has a close relationship with the John Cabot University located in Rome. This partnership allows Italian-American students to study abroad on an annual basis. The Foundation also provides financial assistance to specific academic fields; for example, the Foundation awards The Morgagni Medical Scholarship, for students in their first year of medical school.
The application for the 2018-2019 school year is closed, but is set to reopen in November, 2018 for the 2019-2020 school year. To learn more, please visit www.columbusfoundation.org.
