An event titled “The Golden Place” occurred at the Italian Cultural Institute on Park Avenue, New York. With approximately 100 attendees from both Italy and the United States, the event explored Sardinian cuisine, featured a diverse panel of speakers, and included a performance by the Paulicu Mossa Choir of Bonorva. The event, organized by the Italian National Tourist Board, Com.It.Es, and DisterraUS, was a celebration of Sardinia’s art and culture, eco revival, and sustainable tourism.

At the event, Director Fabio Finotti highlighted Sardinia’s diverse attributes that extend far beyond its beautiful coasts. The history, cuisine, and manufacturing are just a few of the commonly overlooked attributes of Sardinia discussed at the event.

Notable attendees at this event included Dr. Massimo D’Agostino, mayor of Bonorva, as well as scholars, architects, journalists, and tourism industry officials such as Valeria Orani, Jeff Biggers, Nancy Jiuan, Alessandro Melis and Leide Porcu. Each guest presented on topics including architecture, photography, psychology, and personal anecdotes about Sardinia. Orani specifically expressed the deep connection to Sardinia she felt upon moving to New York City.
