“Arias as Art…on Silk”: Operatic Artwork by Claudia Palmira on Display in NYC

During the month of September, the Union League Club Gallery presents an exhibition of Claudia Palmira’s opera artwork entitled, Arias as Art…on Silk. The works uniquely combine together realms of music, color and fashion. The Union League Club Gallery is located on the corner of Park Avenue and 37th Street, and is owned by the Union League Club, a society that works to uphold ideals of American citizenship through art and culture.

These works were crafted by Palmira to an operatic soundtrack as she listened to specific arias while creating each piece. As a result of this creative process, the silk reflects the intensity and passion innate to the opera.

Through her luxury scarf brand, Clú, Claudia Palmira utilizes silk to create wearable pieces of art. These scarves are created in Italy and featured at the Met Opera Shop. Clú contains multiple collections such as the Zodiac and Seashell lines, and The Opera Line as well.
