The Italian Academy Foundation, Inc. has signed an agreement with the City of Ercolano, located in southern Italy in the Italian region of Campania in the shadow of Mt. Vesuvius, for the facilitation of commercial and cultural exchange between the town and  various organizations in the United States.

According to Stefano Acunto, Chairman of the 64-year- old Italian Academy Foundation, this is the latest in a series of accords reached by the group with Italian provinces and regions to assist in the export of their goods and cultural resources to United States audiences.

IAF Vice Chairman, Claudia Palmira Acunto, said, “We look forward to collaborating with Mayor Cucinello of Ercolano to assist this beautiful, historic gem, dating back to pre-Roman times, in communicating cultural and commercial resources and in creating trade.”

According to Domenico Cucinello, Mayor of Ercolano, the Italian Academy Foundation will serve as the major point of contact for their efforts in the United States. “Working with IAF for the promotion of Ercolano in the United States will be our means of inviting visitors, buyers and commercial interests to Ercolano. We are most optimistic and grateful to the Foundation.”
