Photo Vogue Festival Premieres in Milan

From November 22 – 26, the first Photo Vogue Festival opens in Milan, the capital of Italian fashion. The city provides the backdrop for exhibitions and conferences relating to photography – fashion and beyond, and where the public can interact with leading figures of the photography industry.

The Vogue Photo Festival is chaired by the director of Vogue Italia, Franca Sozzani, and directed by senior photo editor. Alessia Glaviano, head of PhotoVogue channel, an innovative platform where users can upload their own fashion photographs. These are just two of the long list of names of the jury of internationally-renowned experts who will choose a new photographer to create a shoot for Vogue Italy. Photography is the essence of the magazine: shot after shot, the magazine’s photos show 50 years of evolution of fashion. Photographers are eyewitnesses of the changes that led to the birth of this event.

The Photo Vogue Festival, includes two exhibitions: an exhibition dedicated to the photographers selected through scouting launched by the PhotoVogue channel, and The Female Gaze, dedicated to photographers who are revolutionizing the way of representing the female body in fashion. The Female Gaze is a historical exploration of identity affirmation of the female body: the exhibition has the task of analyzing the complexity of the world of Women.
