On March 21st the Italian Cultural Institute opened its new exhibit titled Italian Types. Graphic Designers From Italy in America. The exhibit, as the title indicates, features iconic graphic designers from Italy who have greatly influenced American visual culture with their work as well as inspiring the future generation of designers. Showcasing a variety of mediums such as posters, advertisements, magazines, CDs, records and book covers.

With such an abundant showcase of designers the visual variety at the exhibit is truly amazing. One honorable mention is Massimo Vignelli who designed New York City’s subway map and has a collection of work displayed at the exhibit. The show is on until May 2nd and is well worth the visit.
