Filmaker Martin Scorsese Directs Religious Documentary with Fox Nation

Directed by renowned Italian American filmmaker Martin Scorsese, a new religious docuseries releases this November on Fox Nation – a streaming platform managed by Fox News Media since 2018. Titled “Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints”, this eight-episode series focuses on the lives of eight beatified individuals who sacrificed everything for their faith.

In addition to his Catholic faith, Scorsese’s career and past bind him to the new Fox documentary. In 1988, he directed and released the film “The Last Temptation of Christ”, which starred actor William Dafoe as Jesus. Moreover, before working in films, Scorsese pursued priesthood until he changed his mind. Since then, he became one of the great moviemakers of Hollywood by directing movies such as “Taxi Driver”, “Raging Bull”, “Goodfellas”, “The Wolf of Wall Street”, and “The Irishman”. Despite being 81 years old, the Oscar-winning filmmaker continues his career he is already working on a film about Jesus, which is adapted from Shūsaku Endō’s book “A Life of Jesus.”

Featuring the stories of saints such as Joan of Arc, Francis of Assisi, Thomas Becket, Mary Magdalene, and Maximilian Kolbe, the documentary releases its first four episodes in November and then its remaining four episodes in May 2025.
