Enrico Fagone, the young Italian maestro, was nominated for “Best Classical Compendium” as conductor for the extraordinary album Aspire, which features compositions by Villa-Lobos, Piazzolla, and unreleased pieces by Jofre. Fagone became the only Italian artist to attend the Grammy Awards together with Måneskin.

The conductor attended the ceremony in Los Angeles on February 5, representing the highly acclaimed album. The album was born from a collaboration with London Symphony Orchestra, uniting Seunghee Lee on clarinet and JP Jofre on Bandoneon with the artistic conducting of Fagone.

Fagone started his career as a double bass player and performed worldwide with great orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, L’orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI di Torino, and many more. He became the first double bass of the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana and began his career as a conductor eight years ago. He was also the artistic director of the VII Bottesini Competition held in 2019. The conductor from Lombardo is renowned for his virtuosity and exceptional interpretive skills.

Fagone’s nomination for Grammy Awards is the gratifying culmination of a life committed to music, a lengthy and fruitful career, and incredible efforts. The nomination represents a new horizon that promises even greater accomplishments for a career that is already flourishing.
